We work within the public and private sectors to offer sustainable decommissioning/disposal strategies to clients across a multitude of industries. From schools, hospitals and government buildings to hotels, offices and the retail sector.
There are ongoing challenges within the private sector in how to sustainably handle unwanted FF+E at the point of refurbishment or renewal.
Currently options for disposal of unwanted resources are limited to the broken donations model of redistribution or the expensive and unsustainable throwaway model of disposal. Is the upholstery in your commercial setting missing a fire label? Are your mattresses slightly marked? BGES work to alternative disposal/redistribution models allowing us to open new markets and extend the life cycle of any unwanted resources.
From single items to complete hotels/offices, BGES work to guarantee your disposal is as carbon friendly as possible.
Specialising in site clearance and soft demolition work, BGES are committed to delivering these services tailored to the needs of the client/project.
Our staff are expertly trained in the removal of all non-structural aspects of a room/building. This primarily includes: fixtures and fittings (doors, windows, kitchen/bathroom fittings), internal walls, ceilings, temporary structures and equipment/machinery.
BGES work to impeccable sustainability credentials on each project. Working to a framework of reuse for any reusable materials, resources and FF+E during each strip out/soft demolition, BGES work with sustainability at the forefront of each job.
Removal and Storage
Quite often the first step to a sustainable reuse strategy is to reuse the resources internally within your organisation. This may require a short/long term storage solution.
Undertaking renovation work doesn't always mean the renewal of all FF+E from your property. It does mean that all FF+E should be removed from site whilst works are undertaken to be brought back and fitted at a later date.
BGES offer the full turnkey solution in this instance. Our team may already be on site handling the removal and redistributions of your unwanted resources. It therefore makes sense to allow us to manage the decant of all FF+E to our store whether you are holding onto goods to be brough back or not.
End of Term Decant
Multiple times throughout the academic year, students exit their catered and self catered accommodations leaving behind a huge volume of resources.
These huge volumes of homewares, bedding, clothing and small electronics pose a significant problem for universities and colleges when sourcing a sustainable disposal option with many opting for skips and recycling to ensure their accommodation sites are emptied in time for the next wave of residents.
BGES offer waste to resource solutions that guarantee reuse of all of the above mentioned resource streams. Allow our team to manage the collection and clearance of goods during the end of term decant.
Remove to Reuse.
Waste to Resource.
BGES facilitate reuse solutions for a variety of problematic resource streams from furniture, fittings and equipment to clothing/textiles, homewares and electronics. Operating in both commercial (public and private) and domestic sectors, BGES are able guarantee as close to 100% resource reuse as possible for our clients' unwanted resources.
We do so by utilising manpower, logistics and our expert team of movers and project managers working under the guidance and reuse frameworks and accreditations governed by our sustainability partners, Recreate Certified and Zero Cost Scotland.
Having built close working relationships with clients in the private and public sector, with an emphasis and particular expertise working alongside fit out contractors in the construction sector, BGES' reputation for asset decommission and reuse is second to none.
Be part of the solution.
For many organisations the idea of a sustainable waste management solution is influenced by current trends, buzzwords and benchmarks/certifications/ISOs. All too often we see skips being used to dispose of resources with the goods destined for recycling long before the end of the life cycle. Time constraints and pressures of a working site often lead to fast and easy disposal methods.
In a world currently dominated by fast manufacture and a throwaway culture, it is imperative that we move away from our dependence on outdated and harmful disposal methods.
BGES know there is a better way for our clients to process their unwanted resources and we help them do so. Reuse should always be the priority. 1st generation reuse solutions allow your resources to continue their current life cycle. We work to prevent throwaway culture that is all too prevalent in todays wasteful society.
